DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM
Carriers of the overlay (or carbon) has a return tightening rolls covered with rubber. There periodically appears the problem of damages to fragments of the covers, and in that case they were 4 grooves at the circumference, each one of the width of ca. 50 mm, the max. depth of 15 mm (photo No.1).

DESCRIPTION OF THE REPAIR
Due to the necessity to prolong the belt conveyor flight, the belt was cut (the access to the roll was free). The area of the grooves was cleaned of mud, defattened, made rough with rotating wire brushes. It was defattened again with Chester Cleaner and secured with EL-20 – the lacks were only in the area of the rubber. After such preparatory operations, with the initial air humidity of 45%, there was systematically placed Elastomer 90T, successively changing the position of the roll. The Elastomer was massaged into the base thoroughly, the lacks in the rubber were filled in up to the real thickness of the covering (photo No.2). The external surface of the Elastomer was smoothened with a spatula.

ACHIEVED EFFECTS
The repair was performed within 5 hours in the area of the strip mine, without the necessity to dismantle the roll, i.e., without the usage of a crane and a platform with a tractor. In a traditional solution, such a "barrack" roll is dismantled, skinned, and covered with rubber again, polished, and milled. REMARKS: In the moment of the assembly of the roll, pay a special attention to its position and pull: possibility of the tape falling down (6m/s). According to the user's information of November 6th, 1997, the roll functions without problems.
